We are seeking a Test Automation Architect to design, implement, and evolve scalable automation frameworks that cover web, mobile, APIs, and microservices testing. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in modern automation tools, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to evaluate and justify technology solutions for enterprise needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable and maintainable automation frameworks for web, mobile, API, and microservices testing.
- Provide technical leadership in automation strategy, framework architecture, and best practices.
- Conduct POCs, tool evaluations, and present justifications/ROI to prospects, clients, and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure best practices in locator strategies, test stability, test data handling, and reduction of flaky test executions.
- Mentor teams on evolving test practices, including shift-left testing and contract testing approaches.
- Explore and integrate AI/ML-based testing solutions, including self-healing mechanisms and AI-assisted coding tools like GitHub Copilot, to improve efficiency.
- Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to align automation with CI/CD pipelines.
- Provide guidance on mobile automation challenges and effective use of tools like Appium and Playwright.
- Contribute thought leadership through knowledge-sharing sessions and framework improvements.
- Support initiatives in performance and security testing (theoretical understanding preferred, with option to grow hands-on expertise).
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven track record in Selenium, Appium, and Playwright with deep expertise in automation development.
- Hands-on experience in designing frameworks that support multiple platforms and technologies.
- Strong knowledge of locator strategies, handling flaky tests, and improving test reliability.
- Experience with shift-left testing, contract testing, and CI/CD integration.
- Ability to conduct POCs and tool evaluations with business-oriented ROI justification.
- Familiarity with AI/ML in testing, including use of GitHub Copilot for test case and script generation.
- Exposure to self-healing automation techniques.
- Strong communication skills with ability to articulate technical solutions clearly.
Preferred Skills
Hands-on experience of performance and security testing is a plus
Knowledge of cloud-based testing platforms and integrations (e.g., BrowserStack, Sauce Labs).
Ability to coach and mentor teams in automation best practices.
